Mr.Sports

It's been three months since my last post, and Carson is currently enjoying Fall while looking forward to being a Star Wars character for Halloween. Tonight, Carson played in his second real roller hockey game (last week he was surprised that he had to take turns on the bench, lol) and scored 6 goals for the green team! He was then 'traded' to help the black team in the 3rd period and scored another goal to make it 7. What a stinker.. he definitely has his eye on the goal. This end of summer, Carson traveled to Canada for Brendan's wedding, and saw Niagara Falls for the first time up close on the ferry! He loved seeing all his relatives, especially Lilia, who brings the biggest smile to his face. He also danced the night away at the ceremony, and keeps asking to go back to Canada. Carsy also laughs when our new cat Brynn jumps and flips in the air chasing her toys..it's quite a full house these days! Mr.sports has also been leading his soccer team with multiple goals each game, and he loves to say his team won, even if it's what he hoped happened :). He speaks often of his classmate Geo, and neighborhood friend Lohitha. Carsy always wants the same lunch as Geo, and one day he said Geo and he would travel to Canada together. Some nights he and 'Lohi' play until it's dark and cold, and he wants to play again the next day! Carson is a social boy, and we are all very proud of him. Cousin Mark said of him, 'with that sharp haircut, he looks like he's ready for Yale'. It should be a fun Fall season including an upcoming trackout vacation, trick-or-treating and cheering on the Canes! Little buddy was sad to see Nanny+Grandpa leave for their cruise! But Kelsey and C enjoyed reading and doing homework together. We also fit in some golf..I hope you let me get a hole in one next time little dude. ;)

Bring on 1st Grade

Dad is really slacking on the posts! Time to get caught up...there's a lot to talk about! Mr Carson just started 1st grade after a 1-week break following kindergarten graduation (year round schooling)! Little dude put on a good musical show with his classmates at the end of year celebration, including Will-I-Am's 'what I am'. Carson will miss his teach
er (Mrs. Crow) but he was excited for the first day of 1st grade. He is really coming along with his reading and understanding of what he reads, and he actually enjoys doing homework :-) . Since my last post in February, Carsy has checked off several items in his 'to do' list, like: an Atlanta Braves game, scoring hat tricks in soccer and hockey, playing 9 holes of golf, celebrating his 6th Birthday with his classmates at Kidzu museum, camping and touring the Biltmore house, and eating his favorite Boombalatti's ice cream a few times at the beach! Carson is excited about living with Kelsey and Reptar, and his upcoming trip to Canada in August!

Totally Ridiculous

It's 2015 and Mr. Carson has become a full-time student, a roller hockey player and role model for his precious cousin Lilia. Today he loved reading Kelsey's 'Book With No Pictures' and marveled at the rare sight of snow falling in NC. Anxious for a snow day tomorrow, Carson loves to laugh and enjoy his world.. especially Disneyworld, and our winter trip to Orlando was memorable. Sporting his Pluto hat and a large grin, Carson handled the Peter Pan ride, Pirates of the Caribena and the hot tub with ease. Cars also skied for the first time in Boone, and he's ready to go again. His new word is 'ridiculous', and he uses it to describe everything from hockey moves to Spongebob to the gummy bear song. And let's not forget Christmas, being with M-E-L et al was wonderful and long overdue, and he definitely made some lasting memories. Carsy will start soccer again soon, and hopes to see the Canes in person asap...all before he turns 6 ! Happy new year buddy.

Let's Get Started

Carson has officially started elementary school in Mrs.Crow's kindergarten class! He is an Alston Ridge gator and has wasted no time making new friends (he holds hands with Isabella on the way to class daily). Buddy has also kept up with his sports, including soccer, swimming (he can swim without floaties), roller blading (he can now skate backwards),
tennis, biking and he also hit a baseball on the Durham Bulls field! He loves to talk sports and teams (mainly football and hockey) and makes his dad proud :). He also visited a pumpkin patch with Nanny this fall, and plans to be Donatello for Halloween! Mr.Carson had an eventful summer as well...following Lilia's visit at Topsail, Carsy met baby Lane and Kelsey's family at Key West! There, he went sea kayaking and swam miles in the pool. In August, he visited the zoo and celebrated grandpa and dad's birthdays shortly after, where he gladly accepted the candle blowing task. C is almost 5 1/2 now, and he deekes around me with confidence in carpet hockey. He is always eager to play games, especially in the morning when grandpa is half awake and Carson says "c'mon grandpa let's get started."

Take A Bath Dude

Mr. Carson just graduated from pre-K at Lord of Life Academy!! He even got an award for Early Reading and sang in the chorus like a pro! Little buddy also wrapped up soccer, skating and tennis classes, and had fun bowling with his classmate Daniel. And, let's not forget about his 5th Birthday!! Carson celebrated a few times, including at school and at
the beach where he met his cousin Lilia, who he desperately wanted to play hide-and-seek with (even though she's less than a year old). Little C enjoyed a Pigeon and a Hockey cake and thanks to everyone for all his great gifts. These days, Carsy is really talkative and loves to read with us and even TO us...some of his favorite books are 'A Big Guy Took My Ball' and 'The Pigeon Needs a Bath' that features his favorite line 'take a bath dude'. His memory is very impressive, he recently recalled the astronaut sticker book he brought to Brixx pizza 1 year ago. Carson is also starting swimming lessons this month. So proud of you mr.little pants!

I've Got Soul

Carson is 4 years, 9 months, 26 days old today! This boy talks about his birthday in May and the beach trip all the time! But let's not forget about winter and spring! Little buddy had one of his first encounters with real snow! He couldn't get over it, and he liked pretending to skate on the ice in the yard. He also officially started in-line skating
lessons and could cross the rink by himself after 2 classes. I suppose all that time spent watching hockey is paying off! Carsy also is approaching preK graduation and has made a lot of friends at school this year...including *Ryan, Daniel and Preston. He is very excited to start tennis again, and keeps asking 'did tennis come back yet?' He likes dancing to his favorite songs in the car, this month they are Pharrell's 'Happy' and the Soul-but-not-a-Soldier song. Little C still loves to play all kinds of hockey everywhere, and he's perfecting his engineer skills doing Legos daily with Nanny! He also scored 5 goals at soccer last weekend. It's fun seeing all the things you can do buddy! I hope we can build another snowman next year!

Cousin Carson

Happy New Year 2014!!!! Carson was so happy to hear of Lilia's arrival.. what a way to ring in the new year! Welcome to the family baby girl! Carson is ready to play with you! Her name is also perfect for buddy to practice his L's.."Le-le-Lilia". Christmas break was thoroughly enjoyed this season..with the exception of spending it without uncle Eric
and aunt Monica (first time ?ever? I think). This holiday season, Carson got a good dose of hockey, with a side of hockey and hockey pie for dessert :-) He joined a roller hockey class to mark his second time on skates, and did surprisingly well! Quote: "The big kids knocked me over and it hurt but I want to play more hockey". Little C met Santa and Stormy and Monkey Joe.. making friends along the way! He really really loves to socialize and play with friends and family all the time. At Monkey Joe's jump house, Carson said "daddy, where'd my boy go?", referring to his new friend he just met. Carsy still loves candy (m&m's) and building his annual gingerbread house (thanks Nanny) and always wants to know who won the hockey game the night before. He performed in the school musical play and even said grace before New Year's Day lunch! I love you big boy.
